What we call artifical intelligence is truely collective intelligence, its built on our collective knowledge, our collective wisdom and it should be governed as such. I think there are a lot of specific concrete things we can do now, but we also have to think about what the future is and what we want it to look like and make sure it is collectively owned. 

Data is not an inert natural resource, like oil, nor is it a commodity to be individually owned, like property. 'Data' is 1) actively produced by people, who rarely benefit from it, and 2) fundamentally collective, and should be stewarded as such.
